Job description:
The Liver Program Nurse Coordinator will demonstrate a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of the complex patients and their responses toactual or potential health problems. Assists the health are team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. Provides direction, education, and leadership. Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. Safely administers prescribed medications, identifies incompatibilities and/or interactions. Registered Nurse Transplant C oordinator manifests a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of the complex responses of individuals, families, or communities to actual or potential health problems, prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort for the pre and or post transplant patient.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire

Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment including CPR, etc

Current RN licensure in Virginia

AHA BLS HP Certification or equivalent

Level and type of experience REQUIRED

Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in transplant, critical care or medical-surgical nursing

Two (2) years of progressive leadership experience

Demonstrated clinical expertise for population served with a minimum of one (1) year in specialty area

Level and type of experience PREFERRED

Five (5) years of surgery/oncology along with good communication skills.

Academic Healthcare experience

Advanced Practice Nursing Role or C linical Leadership experience

Education/training REQUIRED

Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing

Education/training PREFERRED

Masters Degree in Nursing or related field

Certification in Transplantation

Describe independent action(s) required

Follows documented physician/licensed independent provider orders, within the boundaries of the Nurse Practice Act and established

standards, policies and practice guidelines. Organizes and plans work with input from the patient/family with specific outcomes and

demonstrated use of sound clinical judgment and resources.
